Good all-around day
Written by crmsn2010 on October 28, 2008 – 6:35 pm -Got up on time, got my workout on first thing like I love to do, and got on with my day. It being midterm season, that day was pretty busy, but mostly filled with good news - got a preliminary thumbs-up on my research paper and a hint from a teaching fellow that a midterm went well (that I thought did NOT). Can’t complain at all, then! Other than that, got some more midterms (of course) tomorrow, a research review to type up, and I’m outta here on Friday morning. (Can you tell I’m looking forward to it?)
The one thing I will say that struck me as a “gotta work on that” is my exercise intensity. I feel like I’m pushing myself to where the workout says I should - max weight for 3 set of 10 - but my numbers go up SUPER slowly, don’t go up at all, or even go down a bit on occasion. I think it’s just finding that little bit more to dig deeper, but wanting to maintain good form is also a factor. So, just gotta try to get the most out of it however I can!

Take a week off from exercise.
Seriously - my Personal Trainer - as well as a number of articles I have read - suggest - one week off out of 4 or so. No - I do not adhere to it - but when I am forced to have a couple of days - not just one - day off - I am able to do so much more - both physically and mentally. You are going home for the weekend - take 3-5 days off - you need the mental break from studying as much as the physical break from exercising.
Thanks for the suggestion on the inversted exercise. Skycabin’s bet with me: - who can exceed 1,000 pushups by the greatest margin - who ever thought that by today we BOTH would beyond that goal. HE IS NOT GOING TO WIN!

You must feel wonderful about your research paper, your mid terms and your fitness success! Congratulations…you have worked hard and it definately is paying off. Like TNT says, you do need to give your body time to recharge, sometimes it is hard when we are on our missions and seeing success, but take a few days off and let your body rest…when you get back at it you will feel the difference!
Enjoy your time at home you have earned it!
